Project Proposal:
Water is known to be one of the most resourceful elements in the world. It surrounds us everywhere. We drink it, cleanse with it, and incorporate it into our daily lifestyles. In today’s global environment, purified water is sacred and discovering methods to save and reuse is necessary. One way is to take the boxed water carton and transform it into a plant waterer. This concept was inspired by my mother who wanted me to constantly water her plants. I constructed an environmental system of reusing water. The carton’s bottom is cut off and hung above outdoor plants. When it rains, the carton collects rain water. When the plant requires water, unscrew the cap, poke holes on the inner plastic piece, and the water will flow out of the carton to nourish the plant. This up cycled product accommodates anyone. This system of watering plants will give owners the ability to reuse natural rain water instead of wasting other various household forms of water. I looked at examples of different eco friendly watering cans made out of water bottles. These upcycling versions inspired me to make my Eco-Friendly Plant Waterer.
